Sri Lankan Coconut Roti / Pol Roti

Quantity – 6 per pack (170g – 190g)
Ingredients – Flour, Water, Fresh Coconut, Curry Leaves, Red Onions, Green Chillies, Salt and Coconut Oil
Description – A Sri Lankan classic that is loved by so many, easy to make, and uniquely delicious. It is not your regular flatbread. This is soft in the middle, hard on the outside and aromatic. It’s a very popular type of flatbread made in Sri Lanka. It can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even as a snack throughout the day. It’s super versatile.
We have made it easier for you to take home. The vacuum-sealed pack of 6 Rotis can be made when you want. Simply fry it in a pan!
Serve the Rotis with Coconut Sambol, Lunu Miris, Tempered Dhal, Seeni Sambol, with your favourite meat curry or simply with some butter.
Heat up a frying pan or a crepe pan, brush with coconut oil. Take the Roti dough out of the fridge and leave it at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Flatten the dough using Banana leaves or a flat plate. Apply coconut oil to the plate or the banana leaf then flatten the dough. Cook in the frying pan or the crepe pan for about 8-10 minutes on each side, on low to medium heat. Once you start seeing golden brown spots and it is cooked all the way through, you can remove it from the pan and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Goes well with Butter, Jam, and sugar too 🙂
Storage – Store it in the fridge as soon as you take it home.
